Great Ireland Run To Go Virtual

POSTED:

After assessing all scenarios in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been confirmed that the Great Ireland Run will be going virtual for 2021.

The 20th annual running of the Great Ireland Run 10k, which was set to take place in the iconic surroundings of the Phoenix Park last year, will once again be going virtual for the 2021 edition.

Thousands of walkers and runners are expected to once again turn out in their respective localities and take on the 10km distance this April.

Athletics Ireland took over staging of the event in 2019, and they are committed to seeing Great Ireland Run retain the prestige of years gone by when we hopefully see a return to traditional road races in 2022.

A decision on the National 10k Championships held in conjunction with the Great Ireland Run will be finalised in the coming weeks.

All deferred entries from the 2020 Great Ireland Run have been contacted via email.

While we are prevented from holding the Great Ireland Run this year, we are looking forward to providing you with an even bigger and better event in 2022.

We would like to thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to seeing you take on the challenge of completing your Virtual Great Ireland Run.
