Scott Storms to New Indoor Record

Scott Storms to New Indoor Record

POSTED:

Molly Scott was on fire today (Jan 29th) at the IUAA Track & Field Intervarsities, equalling the national 60m indoor record, before breaking it hours later in what was an incredible day for the Carlow athlete.

Scott ran a time of 7.27 earlier in the day to become a joint holder of the record with Amy Foster, who originally set the record in 2018 at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena.

The St. Laurence O’Toole’s sprinter became outright holder of the record with a stunning time of 7.23 this afternoon at the TUS International Arena in Athlone. Scott exploded from the blocks in her now trademark style and powered all the way to the line to claim top spot on the Irish all-time list.

Scott will now turn her attention to international duty, where she will represent Ireland at the DNA meet in Glasgow next month.
