WORLD INDOOR FINALIST SET FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP DEBUT

POSTED:

Ireland’s Sarah Lavin will make her World Championships debut in the heats of the 100m hurdles in Oregon this evening (July 23rd). It will be the 28-year-old’s first World Championships, continuing a remarkable 12 months for the Limerick athlete which has seen her compete at the Tokyo Olympics last year as well as becoming the first Irish athlete in 12 years to make it to the World Indoor final in Belgrade back in March.

Lavin will take to the Hayward Field track in Eugene this evening having already broken her PB three times this summer, lowering it to 12.84 at the Cork City Sports a fortnight ago. That performance moved the Emerald AC athlete ever closer to the 12.65 NR set by Derval O’Rourke back in 2010.
